apibrėžtis Teisinę vykdomąją galią turinti visuomeninė organizacija. Olimpinių žaidynių organizacinis komitetas atsako už visas materialines problemas, susijusias su olimpinių žaidynių rengimu. Išrinkus būsimų olimpinių žaidynių miestą, TOK paveda tos šalies NOK rengti žaidynes. NOK perduoda jam suteiktus įgaliojimus Olimpinių žaidynių organizaciniam komitetui. Tada Olimpinių žaidynių organizacinis komitetas palaiko tiesioginius ryšius su TOK ir visiškai atsako už olimpinių žaidynių rengimą. Aukščiausiasis organas – jo narių susirinkimas, vykdomasis organas – prezidiumas. Tiesiogiai darbą dirba prie Olimpinių žaidynių organizacinio komiteto sudarytos įvairios komisijos: kapitalinės statybos, sporto įrenginių, varžybų rengimo, informacijos, ryšių, kultūros.
